Strictly injuries threaten dancers

Dance injuries threaten the contestants of Strictly Come Dancing as two of the stars are hurt.

Long jumper Jade Johnson decided to sit out Saturday night's show after picking up a serious knee injury in rehearsals.

Doctors told her that she should not be dancing and needed rest.

Laila Rouass has also had trouble after hurting her ankle but doctors said while it might be painful to dance she could do it. She chose to dance in the live show but was unable to finish.

Jade still appeared in the Saturday night show, she looked pretty upset not to be taking part with her partner Ian Waite and said she was worried she was letting people down.

Laila hurt her ankle when she tripped on some stairs but vowed to go on "even if I have to hop". But the pain got too much for her and she had to stop half way through her routine.

The judges gave her marks on half her dance, placing her at the bottom of the leader board, but the audience vote saved her and she will dance another week.

With host Bruce Forsyth missing the show because of flu and being replaced by comedian Ronnie Corbett it was a pretty unlucky week for Strictly stars.

They will all be hoping to be back on top form next week, but cricket star Phil Tufnell won't be joining them. He has danced his last after being voted off Saturday's show.
