Ashes set to be free on TV

Cricket fans will be happy to know that they soon might not need to pay to watch the Ashes.

That's believed to be the decision by the people who decide which programmes can be charged for, and those that should be free for everyone to watch.

Last summer, thousands missed England's victory because it was only available to those who paid to watch.

It's expected the Ashes will now be added to a list of sports, that should be free for everyone to watch.

Some other programmes on the list are expected to include the international football qualifiers for the home nations, the Wimbledon Tennis Championship and golf's opens.

But racing's Epson Derby and rugby league's Challenge Cup final are both expected to be removed from the list.

The list will be confirmed on Friday.
