Liverpool battle back for draw

David N'Gog wins a penalty

Liverpool battled back to earn a point against Birmingham on Monday, after the teams drew 2-2 at Anfield.

Steven Gerrard scored a penalty in the second half, but TV replays showed the penalty shouldn't have been given.

Reds striker David Ngog earned the spot-kick after a tackle in the area, but there was no contact on him.

Earlier Liverpool opened the scoring when Ngog netted, but goals from Christian Benitez and Cameron Jerome gave Birmingham a surprise lead.

Cameron Jerome celebrates his goal

The penalty took some of the headlines away from a brilliant performance from Birmingham who may have won the match were it not for the penalty.

And Jerome's strike will be in the running for goal of the season, after he crashed the ball into the Liverpool net from a long way out.
