Album Review: Paramore - Brand New Eyes

The style

For anyone who is bit bored of Avril Lavigne or thinks that Kelly Clarkson just doesn't rock hard enough, Paramore's third album Brand New Eyes is definitely for you.

Since forming in 2004, the American band have been doing really well back in their home country. This album looks set to be the one that gets them the massive success they deserve in the UK.

Lead singer Hayley certainly throws everything she's got into the vocals- belting out her lyrics on the louder numbers and packing emotion into the slower ones.

It's quite an angry album, but that doesn't stop it being really exciting and full of catchy tracks.

The hits

First single Ignorance must be one of the best rock tunes of the year, and it's difficult not to start jumping around when it comes on.

Brick by Boring Brick is another highlight and you'll definitely be singing along with it by the end.

If you prefer slower songs, Misguided Ghosts is ace, and shows Hayley is a much better singer than most of the pop acts in the charts.

The misses

The verse of Turn It Off is the closest you'll get to Paramore being boring, but they manage to make it into a great track with a powerful chorus.

If rock is your thing, this album will definitely be stuck in your head, as well as on your MP3 player.

Will it make the charts?

Paramore have a big enough following in the UK now to make it a massive hit. And it's likely to get them loads of new fans.
