Experts to study twin ducklings

The duckling twins

Scientists are trying to find out more about a pair of twin ducklings that hatched from the same egg.

The unusual occurrence happened at a duck farm in Cornwall, and the owners managed to video it.

Two ducks being produced from the same egg is extremely rare, so experts at the Natural History Museum want to find out exactly how it happened.

Because the ducklings are so rare they're not going to be killed for meat like the others on the farm.

They're not living in the same space as the rest of the brood either, as the other hatchlings are bigger and more lively.

The scientists want to test the calcium levels of the egg the ducklings - named Romulus and Remus - and study the DNA of the pair.
