Eight-legged starfish discovered

Stanley the starfish

A strange eight-legged spiny starfish has been found off the coast of Cornwall.

Starfish usually only have five legs, but this one, which has been named Stanley, has three extra and is twice the normal size.

Experts think that Stanley might be two starfish that were born joined together.

Stanley now lives at Newquay's Blue Reef aquarium in the same tank as a friendly octopus.

"Stanley and the octopus get on really well," says aquarium manager David Waines. "Probably because they both have eight legs!"
