Button misses out on F1 crown

Japanese Grand prix

Jenson Button missed out on being crowned Formula One World Champion at the Japanese Grand Prix.

The Brawn driver finished 8th and now has a 14 point lead, with two races to go.

Sebastian Vettel took the chequered flag to keep his title hopes alive, with Jarno Trulli second, and world champion Lewis Hamilton 3rd.

The drivers will battle it out again at the next race, which is the Brazilian Grand Prix on 18 October in Sao Paulo.

Sebastian Vettel, who won from pole position, said he was very happy to have won.

"As I've said many times already, I will fight until the end, until the last breath," he declared.

"I think our task from now on is pretty straightforward: we have to push ourselves to the maximum and try to win, get as many points as we can and everything else is not in our hands."
