My garden design could be in the Olympic Park

Press Packer Hannah entered a competition to design her own Olympic garden and is now in the final!

If she wins she will work with top designers to make the garden in the Olympic Park in London.

"At school, just before the summer holidays started, my year group were given the opportunity to take part in designing our dream Olympic garden.

I love designing things and being outside, so I thought I'd have a go.

Golden area

To get started I imagined taking my best friend Maddy round my garden and being able to visit lots of secret areas.

My favourite thing is running about so I designed my garden to have a big lawn and I've recently discovered that the path is shaped like a person running - but I didn't even notice it until one of my friends who saw the design pointed it out.

I love flowers and gardens and I visit Westonbirt Arboretum gardens which is beautiful, and this is where I got some of my ideas.

My favourite part of the garden I designed is the big golden oak, hung with golden acorns to represent the Olympic medallists.

I'd love to walk through the gardens rose archway into the golden section.

The winner gets to help design the real garden and have some of their ideas used.

I was surprised when I found out I was one of the finalists and really pleased too.

The winner is selected by public vote so I hope I win!"
