In pictures: Timid tiger can't climb down tower

This is Tanvir the tiger. He looks pretty cool having a good old stretch, but he's not in quite as comfortable a position as it appears.

Perhaps Tanvir - who lives at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm in Wraxall, Bristol - is trying to look calm because he's a bit embarrassed about his tight spot.

So far he's spent more than a day on top of this specially built 'activity tower'. Like all cats, Tanvir is great at climbing and like most of them he's rubbish at getting down afterwards.

A spokeswoman said they expected Tanvir to come down when he's cold or hungry - or bored perhaps. He recently got stuck for half an hour on top of a much smaller tower too.

The spokeswoman explained: "Every time he gets to the edge, he looks out, puts a paw over, and thinks 'No, I'm not doing it!'. He's a bit of a wimp."
