Winehouse not guilty of assault

Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse has been found not guilty of assaulting a dancer at a charity ball in September 2008.

She was accused of punching Sherene Flash after she asked the singer for a photograph backstage at the event.

Jurors heard that a friend of the dancer tried to get into the photo, which caused a confrontation between Miss Winehouse and Miss Flash.

The singer said she was at the event to support her 13-year-old goddaughter who was performing at her first gig.

A spokesman for Amy Winehouse said: "She has always maintained her innocence and is very happy to move on with her life and put the episode behind her."
