Toilet trouble on Space Station

International Space Sation

Astronauts on the International Space Station are having some bog-based bother as their main toilet has broken.

There are 13 crew on the station at the moment, more than ever before, meaning there could be some big queues for the loos up in orbit.

The ISS has one back-up bog, and there's another on the space shuttle Endeavour, which is docked with the station at the moment.

It's hoped the main toilet will be repaired soon.

But if the repairs don't work, astronauts may be given bags to go in.

It's not the first time the orbiting lavvies have failed.

The extra-terrestrial toilet, worth millions of pounds, was installed in 2008, but soon needed a new pump.

That was flown up to the ISS by the shuttle Discovery.

And another toilet-related row broke out earlier this year, when a Russian cosmonaut complained that he was no longer allowed to use the US toilet because of cost issues.
