Ricky straps into a high-flying classroom

Earlier in 2009 Newsround visited a school that got an exciting new-style classroom - a grounded aeroplane.

Back then Adam went to see it touch down in the school playground, but it wasn't ready for lessons to start.

Now it's been given a lick of paint and good clean and is ready for the kids at Kingsland primary school to start using.

This time we got Ricky some tickets for Classroom Airways!

"It might sound odd, but teachers and students at the school decided it would be a good idea have a bit of extra teaching space outside the main building.

Plane arrives at school

They decided to add the room in the form of an old airplane.

Back in April it took a while for the jet to take up its position on the school playing field, and its journey was pretty turbulent to say the least!

Whoops!

As the crane lowered the plane it crashed into a satellite dish hanging off a nearby house AND knocked over a lamp post.

Three months later and the plane has been been decorated and fitted with carpet, lights, heating and the latest technology.

The classroom is now officially open, and I got to check it out.

Plane excited!

All the kids at the school were eager to check it out and board the plane for the first time. Let's just say their excitement levels were sky high.

The inside of the plane has been fitted with seats, fold-down desks and even a couple of electric heaters so the space can be used in the winter.

The cockpit will eventually be turned into a recording studio and flat screens will be fitted too."
