Plans to help the world's poorest

G8 Summit

G8 meeting plans to help world's poor

Plans have been made to help some of the poorest countries get more food.

A big meeting of world leaders - called the G8 summit - is taking place in Italy to talk about global problems.

The world leaders have said they plan to give £12bn ($20bn) to some countries in Africa, which is more than some experts had preficted they'd donate.

On Thursday they agreed to do more to try to stop global warming. Some experts reckon they should set even bigger targets to cut greenhouse gases.

And some people have said they're worried because no-one has said how the cuts will be made.

And developing nations like India might not make cuts unless countries like America do even more to cut their pollution.

The G8 countries at the talks are Britain, Canada, France, America, Germany, Italy, Japan and Russia.

The help with food isn't just buying them stuff when people are hungry, it's also about helping them produce their own food in future too.
