People living in Newtownabbey have been warned to keep their eyes peeled after a metre-and-a-half long snake escaped from a house in the area.

The six-year-old Carpet Python, which isn't poisonous, went missing from the Abbots Gardens area.

The black and dark brown reptile is believed to be harmless, but you shouldn't approach it if you see it.

They said that police should be contacted with any sightings on 0845 600 8000.
