Federer wins Wimbledon final

Roger Federer

Roger Federer has won this year's men's singles Wimbledon final in a tense 5-7 7-6 (8-6) 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 16-14 win.

It's Federer's sixth Wimbledon win, and his 15th Grand Slam, making him the most successful tennis player ever.

Andy Roddick took the first, set, and looked like taking the second. But that went to a tie breaker, and Roger fought back to level the game.

The pair were level for five sets, but in a nail biting finale Federer took victory in a 30 game final set.

Roger Federer was favourite to win by a long way, but Andy Roddick wasn't about to lie down and let him take victory.

The match was incredibly tense, with Roddick's powerful serve and Federer's masterful ball control both being tested to their limits.

Federer looked like being on top so many times, but Roddick simply wouldn't give in.

However, Federer held on and his class shone through allowing him to take a remarkable victory.
