Internet draw for Jackson tickets

Michael Jackson

Tickets for Michael Jackson's memorial service in Los Angeles will be available via a draw on the Internet, it was revealed by his promoter.

Eleven thousand free tickets are to be issued for the service. Fans from around the world can apply.

Fans have to register at the Staples Center website for their tickets, and names will be chosen at random.

Another 6,500 tickets will be issued for a broadcast of the service which will be shown at a nearby theatre.

The draw will happen at 1am on Sunday morning, and the people who have got tickets will be told later that day.

Officials have asked other fans to watch the memorial service from their own homes, because they're worried thousands of people without tickets could flood the area.
