Wins for England and Wales

Gareth Barry

England and Wales have both won their world cup qualifying matches.

Emile Heskey and Gareth Barry each knocked one home in the first half to give England a confident 4-0 win over Kazakhstan.

The third and fourth goals came in the second half from Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard to seal the game.

And David Edwards fired one home jsut before the half time break to send Wales to a 1-0 victory against Azerbaijan.

But it was bad news for Northern Ireland, as they were roundly beaten 3-0 by Italy.

The Republic of Ireland did slightly better, drawing 1-1 with Bulgaria.
