Game review: Night at the Museum 2

Night at the Museum 2

Format reviewed

Nintendo Wii

It's basically just the movie played as a game. You play as the museum night guard, Larry Daley, with all the exhibits that come to life at night. It also includes a lot more new exhibits.

You have to complete various missions as you piece together parts of a pharaoh's tablet, each of which gives you a different ability that helps with the next mini-game.

And you use your key chain and flashlight to solve puzzles and make your way through the museum.

The game is fun to begin with when you get to meet all the exhibits for the first time and you even get to ride on a dinosaur. It is aimed at a younger audience five to 10 so you might not enjoy it if you're older.

It is quite fun and you would probably want to keep playing it to complete all the 14 levels. It gets more exciting as you get more into the game.

The graphics in this game aren't very good. They are probably the poorest part of the game and they could be a lot better.

It is quite hard to remember some of the controls at first but you do get the hang of it after a while. Also if you move your character he skids about a bit.

Hit or miss?

This game is only just a hit. If there was an in-between for hit and miss it would be that. The reason for it not being a hit is because it is hard to remember some of the controls and the graphics aren't very good, but it's alright once you get the hang of it.

NR rating:

Three out of five
