Tom Daley forced to switch school

Diver Tom Daley

Dive star Tom Daley has changed schools after claims he was being bullied.

Tom, who represented Team GB at the Beijing Olympics, was taken out of Eggbuckland Community College after he said he was being picked on.

The college said a small number of pupils were "acting in an immature way" towards Tom, but they had taken action to stop the problem.

Tom will now go to Plymouth College, which teaches lots of other high profile young athletes.

Tom said: "I'm really looking forward to going to Plymouth College and being with other young people who understand the pressures of high-level competition."

When Tom was taken out of Eggbuckland Community College the school's principal, Katrina Borowski, said she was unaware of any bullying.

Tom said he'd been picked on by lots of people at his school, experiencing things like "name calling, someone chucking a bit of paper at you, tipping your pencil case out".
