Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle is being treated for exhaustion at a private clinic, newspaper reports say.

The Scottish singer is thought to have been taken to the clinic by ambulance, a day after losing out to dance group Diversity in the TV talent show final.

She had been favourite to win the top prize of £100,000 and a chance to perform at the Royal Variety Show.

On Sunday, TV bosses said the 48-year-old was "exhausted and emotionally drained" and would be taking time off.

In a statement, TV company talkbackThames added: "She has been seen by her private GP who supports her decision to take a few days out for rest and recovery.

"We offer her our ongoing support and wish her a speedy recovery."
