Strachan quits as Celtic boss

Gordon Strachan

Gordon Strachan has resigned as manager of Celtic after failing to clinch a fourth Scottish league title in a row.

The former Scotland midfielder led Celtic to three championship titles but on Sunday his team finished four points behind rivals Rangers.

On Monday Strachan announced he was quitting. He said: "It has been an absolute honour and privilege to be the club's manager for four years."

Strachan could now be in the running for the job of Sunderland manager.
