I grow my own vegetables

Emma working in her garden

Press Packer Emma grows her own vegetables in the backgarden.

Here's her story:

"I live in a small country village on the edge of the Cotswolds.

I first started gardening when I was three. I planted a strawberry plant in my old Wellington boot and kept it by the back door.

I still really enjoy gardening and planting things that I can pick and eat.

Cucumber success

In our garden we have an enormous chicken run with eight chickens in it. I really like collecting the eggs.

In the greenhouse, we have five healthy tomato plants.

One of them is a Baby Sun Gold plant and when it grows, we'll get some nice little golden tomatoes which are really sweet.

I am also growing cucumbers which I have grown before and they always taste different to the ones you can buy.

Exciting hobby

When I am older I would like a big garden with lots of flowers and vegetables in it.

I would also like a big greenhouse because I could sit and garden when it's raining!

I think everyone should grow their own vegetables because it's really exciting and fun to watch things grow from just a little seed."
