Rangers win to grab SPL advantage

Kenny Miller celebrates his goal

Rangers have piled the pressure on Celtic in the race for the SPL title, after beating Aberdeen 2-1.

The win takes Rangers three points clear of Celtic at the top of the table, although Rangers have now played one more match than Celtic.

Celtic play on Sunday, and if they are able to win as well, the teams will be level on points with one match left.

Rangers' goals came from a Richard Foster own-goal and a really good header from striker Kenny Miller.

Aberdeen did silence the home crowd with a goal of their own though, when Michael Paton netted in the second half.

Other SPL scores
Falkirk 0-2 St Mirren
Hamilton 0-3 Motherwell
Hearts 3-0 Dundee United
Kilmarnock 1-0 Inverness

The match at Ibrox was an eventful one, with both sides having a player sent off in the first half.

If both Rangers and Celtic do finish the season level on points the title will be decided on goal difference.

After Rangers' victory on Saturday Celtic have a one goal advantage on goal difference.
