Rangers go top of the SPL

Steven Davis celebrates after scoring the winning goal for Rangers

Rangers have beaten Celtic 1-0 at the Ibrox stadium, their home ground.

The result means they overtake their neighbours to sit at the top of the Scottish Premier League with three matches left to play.

Midfielder Steven Davis slammed in the the winning goal thirty seven minutes into the match.

The result settles the last Old Firm derby of the season and leaves Rangers two points clear of the champions and favourites to win the title.

Elsewhere in the League St Mirren lost 3-1 at home to Motherwell and Falkirk stay at the bottom of the league after their match against Kilmarnock ended 1-1.
