Cool clothes and sun cream will be all-important this summer, if the latest weather forecast turns out to be right.
Weather experts have said they think the UK could be as warm as parts of Spain later in 2009.
A spokesperson said: "After two disappointingly wet summers, the signs are much more promising this year."
The information used to work out what the weather is going to be like suggests it will be warmer than normal, and that there will be less rain.
But when the rain showers do come it's going to be important to be prepared, as they could be pretty heavy.
The forecast doesn't mean it's going to be warm all summer, and there may still be times when it rains a lot, but overall it's expected to be a warm one.
Warmer than 2008
Ewen McCallum from the Met Office added: "We can expect times when temperatures will be above 30C, something we hardly saw at all last year."
The long-term forecast is created to help businesses and services such as hospitals plan for the summer.
