Chelsea knock out Liverpool

Frank Lampard

Chelsea have knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League in a nail-biting match at home at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea led 3-1 from the first leg, so Liverpool needed three clear goals to go through, but in the end even four wasn't enough!

The match ended with a 4-4 draw but that meant Chelsea won over two legs with an aggregate score of 7-5.

Liverpool led at half time with an amazing free kick from Fabio Aurelio and a penalty from Xavi Alonso.

But Chelsea came back in the second half. Pepe Reina got the final touch as Didier Drogba turned in a cross from Nicolas Anelka.

Then an unstoppable free kick from Alex levelled the score to 2-2. Frank Lampard then found himself in the right place to put the blues ahead 3-2 converting a cross from Drogba.

It should have been game over, but there was more drama to come. Liverpool came back with goals from Lucas Leiva and Dirk Kuyt.

It was 4-3 to Liverpool with just minutes of normal time remaining when Stamford Bridge was stunned by another goal from Frank Lampard.

The win was sealed for Chelsea with a final score of 4-4 and 7-5 on aggregate. They now face Barcelona in the semis.
