Chris Brown has told an American court that he did not attack and threaten his girlfriend Rihanna in February.
Brown was arrested after the incident on the way to the Grammy Awards.
On Tuesday Brown told the court he was "not guilty" of the attack. He could be jailed for up to five years if the court decides he is guilty.
Brown will have to appear in court again in three weeks' time. Police in America have advised Rihanna not to talk about the case.
Brown will now face a trial to decide if he did attack Rihanna or not. She may be called as a witness to explain what happened.
Documents used in court said what it's thought happened on the night of the Grammys.
Brown: "sorry and saddened"
They say the pair got into an argument while in a sports car on the way to the ceremony. They also say Brown tried to make Rihanna get out of the car, and attacked her.
After the incident Brown said he was "sorry and saddened" and was seeking counselling.
