A strong earthquake hit a city called L'Aquila in central Italy on Monday morning, killing at least 207 people and injuring thousands.
Rescuers are helping the injured and searching for survivors in the rubble.
The 30 second earthquake hit in the middle of the night and caused panic as people ran into the streets.
Many people have died and up to 10,000 buildings have been damaged.
Thousands of people may have been made homeless.
The quake is also said to have cut phone and power lines.
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has declared a state of emergency.
