Simpsons get their own stamps

The Simpsons St Patrick's Day special

The Simpsons will be on stamps across America soon to celebrate their 20th birthday.

Homer and Marge will appear alongside Bart, Lisa and Maggie on five special 44 cent (31p) stamps.

The artwork for the stamps has been designed by their creator Matt Groening.

There's no mention as to whether their dog, Santa's Little Helper, or other Simpson characters will be on them.

The Simpsons first appeared on TV in America in 1989, and in the UK in 1990. Since then more than 400 episodes have been broadcast.

The stamps will be previewed on the US postal service website next week, but they haven't announced when they will go on sale yet.
