UK Simpsons fans get Irish treat

The Simpsons St Patrick's Day special

For the first time it its 20-year history, a Simpsons episode is being shown in the UK before America.

The St Patrick's Day show, called In The Name Of The Grandfather, will be premiered on Tuesday.

In the episode, the cartoon family travel to Ireland and visit famous landmarks, such as the Giant's Causeway and the Blarney Castle.

But things never go smoothly for the family and trouble follows once Homer and his father buy a pub.

This episode is not the first in which the cartoon family have travelled abroad. They have also visited countries such as Brazil, France and Australia.

It will be shown on Sky1 ahead of its broadcast on US network Fox.
