Strictly stars give Maddy tips

Have shows like Strictly Come Dancing ever made you feel like hitting the dance floor?

Well, it seems more and more of you are putting on your dancing shoes and learning some moves in school.

And now two Strictly stars, dancers Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova, are encouraging kids to take it up.

Around 2,500 kids in 29 schools in England will be taking part in a new scheme to help kids get fit by dancing in their sports lessons.

It seems that even boys are keen to hit the dance floor after watching sports celebs on Strictly doing it.

Kids speak out about dance in PE

Darren Bennett said: "Boys are seeing ballroom and Latin dance in a whole new light - if their sporting heroes can do it, then so can they."

The government minister in charge of children and education, Ed Balls, said dancing was a fantastic way for children to keep fit.

He said: "Making physical activity an attractive option for all young people is especially important if we are to tackle obesity."
