Chinese New Year celebrations

People across the world are celebrating the start of the Chinese New Year.

The Chinese year is lunar, which means it depends on the cycles of the moon, so is celebrated on a slightly different day every year.

Each year is given the name of an animal, which has a different character, and this year is the Year of the Ox.
