Bafta award nominations revealed

WALL E

Just days after winning a Golden Globe, Wall-E has been nominated for another three big awards.

The animated summer hit about the rubbish-collecting robot is up for best animated film and best sound at the Bafta awards.

And it's going head-to-head in the music category with Mamma Mia!, which is in the running for two prizes, including outstanding British film.

Meanwhile, Kate Winslet is up against herself in the best actress category.

If she wins, she'll need to make room for the trophy alongside the Golden Globes she took home at the weekend for best actress AND best supporting actress.

Elsewhere, there's good news for British animation, with Wallace and Gromit's A Matter Of Loaf And Death being nominated as best short animation.

And Heath Ledger, who died in January from an accidental overdose, has been nominated for best supporting actor for his role as the Joker in the Dark Knight.

He was awarded a Golden Globe for best-supporting actor for his role in the film.
