Mamma Mia! is now the biggest film ever in the UK, breaking the record for ticket sales set by Titanic in 1998.

People in the UK have now spent 69,068,073 on tickets to watch Mamma Mia! in cinemas.

That's just ahead of Titanic, which was a big enough hit in 1998 for film fans to spend 69,025,646 to see it.

And it's not just in the UK where people have been flocking to see the film, as Mamma Mia! is the biggest film of the year in 15 countries.

So far 372.8m ($570m) has spent on tickets to see the film around the world.

David Kosse, president of Universal Pictures International said: "For Mamma Mia! to make history in this way and beat Titanic, which has held the record in the UK since 1998, is truly phenomenal."
