Ellie Simmonds and Rebecca Adlington were two of the biggest stars at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards in Liverpool. But would they be winners?
Ellie Simmonds was! She beat diver Tom Daley and tennis player Laura Robson to pick up the trophy for Young Sports Personality of the Year.
Another winner was Sir Bobby Charlton. He won the Lifetime Achievement Award and got a massive standing ovation from the 9,000 members of the audience in Liverpool.
Chris Hoy was one of the favourites to take the big prize, and at one point got on his bike to celebrate a brilliant year for British cycling.
Another star turn came from rower Zac Purchase, who got out his saxophone to bash out a top tune.
Coach of the Year went to Dave Brailsford, who is the boss of British Cycling.
And British cyclists also took the team of the year award. Victoria Pendleton, Nicole Cooke and Rebecca Romero picked up the prize.
But it was Chris Hoy who was the biggest winner on the night. The triple Olympic champion is the BBC Sports Personality for 2008.
Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton finished in second place, and swimmer Rebecca Adlington was third. They are there behind the confetti, honest!
After the event had finished Adam made sure he got a snap with all of the top three. First up, Rebecca Adlington.
Second-placed Lewis Hamilton was also happy to pose for a pic.
And here's Adam with the BBC Sports Personality of the Year for 2008, Chris Hoy.
