Race under way for Christmas hit

Sir Terry Wogan is the highest new entry in the UK singles chart this week as the race to be Christmas number one on Sunday gets under way.

His version of Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth with Aled Jones is raising cash for Children in Need and has gone straight in at number three.

But they couldn't shift Leona Lewis off the top spot with her latest hit, Run.

However, chart experts reckon the top single at Christmas is sure to be Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah.

Over in the album chart, Take That are still number one with The Circus.

But Leona is hot on their heels, as the deluxe version of her album Spirit is up one place to number two.
