Girl, 13, scoops big record deal

Faryl Smith

A 13-year-old schoolgirl could be about to earn millions after signing a record-breaking album deal.

Faryl Smith first hit our screens on the ITV talent show, Britain's Got Talent, and although she didn't win, she picked up loads of fans.

Her amazing singing meant she attracted attention from record company bosses, and she's now signed a 2.3m deal.

That makes her a record breaker because that's the most valuable contract ever given to someone so young.

And this new contract is certainly keeping Faryl - who sings mezzo-soprano - busy as she's got to pack recording her new album in between doing schoolwork.

Her album comes out in March next year, and she reckons that it's a dream come true because singing is her passion.

But just what does a schoolgirl do with all that cash?

Well her Dad is going to help her spend some of it by buying a local football club.
