Happy birthday computer mouse

Not many mice celebrate their birthdays, but lots of people are making a big deal of the fact the computer mouse is now 40 years old.

The first ever computer mouse was invented by Doug Engelbart, and it looked very different to the ones we use today - a wooden block with one button!

This video shows some of the pictures from Mr Englebart's first ever demonstration of his idea, in 1968.

And if you've ever wondered why a mouse is called a mouse, you can find out from the inventor himself!
