Liverpool have made it to the knock-out stage of the Champions League, but Chelsea didn't do enough to make it through.

The Reds beat Marseille 1-0 at Anfield, with Steven Gerrard scoring the only goal of the match.

Gerrard earned even more praise from his boss, Rafael Benitez, for not reacting when an object was thrown at him by Marseille fans.

But it wasn't such a good night for Chelsea, who drew 1-1 with Bordeaux.

The match started well with Nicolas Anelka firing the Blues ahead.

But Alou Diarra headed in a late equaliser for Bordeaux, and Frank Lampard was sent off near the end for two yellow cards.

Chelsea now need to win their final game against Romanian side FC Cluj, in two weeks, to make it through.
