Man City triumph over Arsenal

Manchester City's Stephen Ireland (right) beats Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia

A bad week for Arsenal got a whole lot worse when they were beaten 3-0 away at Manchester City.

It's the Gunners' fifth league defeat this season and comes after captain William Gallas was dropped for speaking out about trouble among his team-mates.

His absence left a hole in the Arsenal defence that City made the most of, with goals from Stephen Ireland and Robinho and a Daniel Sturridge penalty.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Liverpool are still first and second in the table.

Other Saturday results
Aston Villa 0-0 Man United
Middlesbrough 1-3 Bolton
Portsmouth 2-2 Hull
Stoke 1-0 West Brom
Both sides had to settle for goal-less draws - Chelsea against Newcastle United and Liverpool against Fulham.

Elsewhere, Dean Windass rescued a point for Hull as they drew 2-2 at Portsmouth, but West Brom are still bottom of the table after losing 1-0 away to Stoke.
