Footie wins for Wales and England

Matthew Upson celebrates scoring with John Terry and Wales captain Craig Bellamy and Chedwyn Evans

There were wins for England and Wales, but Scotland and Northern Ireland were defeated in their international friendly footie matches on Wednesday.

Captain John Terry scored a late winner for England, giving them their well-deserved 2-1 win over Germany.

And Wales' captain Craig Bellamy scored the only goal of the game in their match against Denmark.

But Scotland were beaten 1-0 by Argentina, and Northern Ireland went down 2-0 at home to Hungary.

Matthew Upson put England ahead in their match against Germany.

But then a mix-up between Scott Carson and John Terry led to Patrick Helmes equalising for Germany.

But Terry made up for it by heading in a late winner with just six minutes left.

The win makes it five in a row for Fabio Capello's side.

Meanwhile, Craig Bellamy and Manchester City striker Ched Evans both had chances to put Wales ahead in the first half of their match against Denmark.

But West Ham striker Bellamy finally scored the winner for Wales with just 13 minutes to go.

Wales boss John Toshack said that he was 'delighted' with his side's 1-0 win.
