Locusts swarm across Australia

Cannot play media. Sorry, this media is not available in your territory.

Huge swarms of locusts have been spotted in parts of New South Wales in Australia.

The tiny critters love tucking into green vegetation and, as it's nearly harvest season there, they've got plenty to be tucking into.

But it's bad news for farmers as this is the first successful crop many of them have had after years of drought.

Officials say they've got planes on standby to treat the swarms, which are up to six kilometres long!, if they start getting any bigger.
