US Election cyberspace battle

Adam

Mudslinging and name-calling are part of the course of any election, but the two men battling to be US president have taken it to a whole new level.

Campaign teams behind Barack Obama and John McCain have been working hard to think up wacky ways of scoring votes.

They've swamped the web with videos and Obama's even advertising on video games to try and grab players' attention.

But the web's also full of stuff the candidates DON'T want you to see, like comedy clips and mishaps!

John McCain's team have been posting videos criticising Barack Obama and his ideas.

John McCain and Barack Obama
They're battling it out in cyberspace!
And Obama's side haven't been letting them get away with it, because they've been doing it too!

They've also set up an Obama-themed social network for where his supporters can get organised and donate money towards his campaign.

It seems to be working, because he's already raised more than any other politician EVER.

But is the battling for the hearts and minds of Americans going too far?

Here's what the Newsround 'Pres Packers' from Culpepper in the State of Virginia had to say...

Alexis
Alexis thinks it's cool that Barack Obama has bought advertising space on some computer games to try and get support from gamers.

Elena

Lance
