Floods in Spain after heavy rains

Bicycle in the floods

Torrential rain has caused really bad flooding in eastern and southern parts of Spain.

Flood waters damaged homes and cars, with the cities of Valencia and Alicante the worst hit.

The downpours cut off telephone, water and energy supplies, and caused problems on lots of roads.

Many people were left stranded in Valencia, and forecasters say more heavy rain and storms could be on the way.

Emergency workers have started a clean-up operation, and people are being told to watch out for mud slides.
