Giant knots, the thin end at the front, there are loads of ways kids try and make their school ties look cool.
But pupils at a school in Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands of England have been banned from tying their ties in trendy styles.
Teachers said they were making the uniform look messy - so kids have been given clip-on ones to wear instead!
The head teacher of Arthur Terry secondary school said pupils' behaviour has already improved.
Headteacher Christopher Stone told a newspaper: "It's not for me to advise other schools on whether they should adopt something similar but it has certainly worked for us.
"Our attendance has risen in the two weeks since the ties were introduced and I think it's now one of the best in the area."
