Harry Potter author JK Rowling has given £1 million to the Labour Party.
JK said she'd made the donation because the party, which is led by Prime Minister Gordon Brown, had done a lot to help tackle child poverty.
It's good news for Mr Brown because he's quite unpopular at the moment and some people in his party don't think he should be in charge any more.
But he said he was delighted to have the backing of 'one of the world's greatest ever authors'.
JK Rowling is friends with Gordon Brown
The prime minister is hoping to win back the support of those who want him to go, during Labour's big yearly meeting next week.
Outside the Labour party, the Conservative leader, David Cameron, seems to be getting a lot more popular than Mr Brown.
But JK, who is friends with Gordon Brown and his wife Sarah, said she didn't agree with some of the Conservatives' ideas.
She said: "I believe that poor and vulnerable families will fare much better under the Labour Party than they would under a Cameron-led Conservative Party.
