A six-year-old boy had his thumb torn off after he caught it when he slid down a vandalised slide in a playground in Blackpool.
Leon's parents are now warning of the dangers of damaged equipment, and say more should be done to repair things in parks and playgrounds when they're broken.
So we wondered what YOUR playground is like?
Has it got loads of cool equipment and is well looked after? Or is it old and damaged, and covered in graffiti?

They throw cracked eggs down the slide, they dump rubbish on the floor, they spill drinks on the swings, they leave beer bottles and the pub's drinking glasses everywhere. The council fixes everything but the next day the same thing happens again."
Deanna, 12, South Wales

"Why do they do it? What about when they were children - would they like it? The swings have been taken away from the park where I live. There are other parks but they are a long walk from where I live. I think there should be a playground for over 11s and a park for under 11s. Or there should be a board for them to do all the horrible things that they do in the park. It is not fair. Why do they do it? I feel sorry for people who have got hurt. STOP IT."

People began to complain and the council totally demolished the park and someone even made a tree swing when the park was at its worst, now the park is a great place to be and I hope no one decides to ruin it again!"
Anya, 13, Hull, England
"Our park has been vandalised with spray paint. The swings have been thrown round and round the top pole and most of the equipment have been broken by vandals and have been taken out of the park. Now it's boring for little kids. It's so open that dogs that are off the lead do their business in there too, so that is lying about as well. They should have security cameras to stop vandalism."
