England's new cricket captain Kevin Pietersen helped his side to a 20-run win against South Africa in a one-day international at Headingley in Leeds.

Pietersen got 90 runs and Andrew Flintoff 78, as England scored 275 with just six batsmen during their 50 overs.

South Africa put up a tough fight to beat England's total, but they were bowled out after scoring 255 runs, with just two balls left.

The next game in the five-match series will be on Tuesday at Trent Bridge.
