The release of the sixth Harry Potter film has been put on hold for eight months - so it won't hit cinemas until July 2009!
Although it's almost finished, studio bosses want to save Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to be a summer blockbuster.
Why? Because the recent Hollywood writers' strike means other films won't be ready in time for the summer.
But is it a good idea to make fans wait? Has the delay made you happy or mad?
Maybe you think waiting will make you even more excited about seeing the film when it finally is released, or will you be over Potter by then?

"I don't really care because Harry Potter is kind of boring. Although I think Hermione is very pretty."
Robyn, 11, Manchester, England
"I just don't really understand why they're doing this. They make millions of pounds on just this one movie. I also don't understand what is the difference between it being a July hit than a November hit."
Alice, 10, Oxford, England
"I am so very annoyed that the release date has been delayed. I was really looking forward to watching it."
Anisa, 14, Sheffield, England
"I hate Warner Brothers for this. They have brought out two teaser trailers already - that's a year before the film even premieres. It's nothing to do with the Hollywood writers' strike; this is Britain, not Hollywood. IT'S SO ANNOYING."
Lewis, 13, Devon, England
"I'm really mad at this! They could have just delayed it until Christmas or something but no, they delayed it eight MONTHS!!"
Alex, 10, Lincolnshire, England
"Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! I was waiting anxiously and the time was going to fly to November, but now it's going to be released after another school year. It really is a heartbreaking experience. I guess I could wait till summer - again. I really am a big fan!"
Ruksana, 13, Rochdale, England
"I am utterly appalled! Warner Bros. should be ashamed they're doing this to one of the biggest fan bases in the industry! Not only is there a two year gap between the Order of the Phoenix and the Half-Blood Prince, they had already suggested they were releasing it this Autumn, meaning millions of fans are let down! I think it's terrible, all for money and the writer's strike, which most young fans won't understand!!"
Valerie, 13, North Wales
"I was ready to cry!!! I was counting down the days and everything!"
Bella, 13, South Wales
"I think Warner Bros. are making a huge mistake when disappointing so many fans by pushing the release date. They make the movie for the fans. Maybe they should listen to them!"
Joachim, 15, Norway
"I was really looking forward to seeing the next Harry Potter movie in November. But now it's in July next year! I think it's a bad time to put the film out in July because loads of other films come out at that time as well. I can't wait until July!"
Alice, 11, Southampton, England
"I am absolutely devastated because I am a big fan of Harry Potter and I was really look forward to it, but now I have to wait!!!"
Claudia, 10, Slough, England
"I think it's a good thing because it's something to look forward to, but annoying that we all have to wait until next summer- we've all been so excited."
Amy, 11, Droitwich, England
"I think it's devastating because I am a very big Potter fan and you always know the films are going to be top notch so it's sad to delay them."
Rebecca, 11, Leicester, England
"I'm really disappointed. We only had to wait three months or so. Now we have to wait nearly a YEAR!!"
Lauren, 12, Leeds, England
"I'm quite disappointed about the delay. I was really looking forward to watching this one - I never really like the films because in my opinion they always miss out too much, but this one seemed a lot better."
Zaynah, 15, London, England
"I am very mad at the delay for the next Harry Potter movie because I have been waiting so long to see this movie. Hopefully, this extra time will allow the film to be even better than the rest and they will not leave any important information out, especially scenes with the house elf, Dobby! I love the HP films, but it is a major upset that they had to delay it that long. It will just make me want to watch it more when the time comes!"
Taylor, 13, Montreal, Canada
"I am soooo disappointed; I was really looking forward to seeing Harry Potter. It's really annoying we have to wait a whole year. I wish they could just keep it the way it was. GRRR!"
Jazz, 13, France
"Nooooooooooooooooooo! Eight months! I love the films (and the books) and I was so looking forward to seeing the film with my dad the month it was supposed to come out at the cinema and now I have to wait ages. Me and my mates are sooo disappointed."
Hannah, 9, UK
"I think it is unfair because people have been waiting for ages and now they have to wait even longer."
Heidi, 9, Somerset, England
"The fans must be so upset because eight months is not a short time."
Jeremy, 13, London, England
"I'm really disappointed and I cried all night =("
Satomi, 12, Japan
"I'm really disappointed, because November was bad enough, but now it's almost a year! I don't see how other films that aren't ready affect this, and I hope it's changed back."
Lauren, 10, South Wales
"I want to see HP this year; I really love Harry Potter and will never get tired of him. All my friends and I are NOT HAPPY."
Deklan, 7, Australia
"I don't care. I like Potter films but it's just a movie; people are taking it too seriously."
Sam, 12, Reading, England
"This is outrageous; this cannot happen!!!!!! The public has waited too long for the film! It is not the best, I admit, but even so I think we have waited too long."
Bethany, 9, Preston, England
"I'm kind of annoyed at that; I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. But at least I'll be looking forward to it even more!"
Bethany, 13, Argyll and Bute, Scotland
"I am really annoyed because it was the one thing I was really looking forward to in the next couple of months. I don't want to have to wait. They should've asked us what we think first."
Mackenzie, 14, London, England
"I think it's quite upsetting, especially when the trailer has just been released. To get excited for that and then to find out I will have to wait another eight months is disappointing."
Lucy, 14, Liverpool, England
"Warner Brothers and other companies related to Harry Potter know that the sooner they bring out the films, the sooner it ends, thus the sooner the merchandise and DVD sales end. It's all about money for these people."
Sam, 13, London, England
"I'm so frustrated! Me and my brother and friends were all getting ready and preparing by watching every film and everything to do with Harry Potter. People are going to get bored of the trailer and everyone will be bored of no Harry Potter. I understand about why, but it's just the bosses that don't care because they've seen it already. At least Deathly Hallows won't be so far away now from the next one."
Rory, 11, Cardiff, Wales
"I reckon this is absolutely pants because the film was supposed to be coming out near before my birthday so it was decided I would watch that as a treat. But now it's coming out in the summer I'm going to have to find something else to do for my big day. It's not fair and I am really infuriated and disappointed!! It was really annoying and I'm sure everyone will agree that this is totally out of order."
Fiona, 11, Bristol, England
"I think it is really bad that they are making us wait, but I still think that people should have a little more patience. Personally, I feel that the books are better, but am still disappointed at the wait. On the other hand, waiting seems to make it more exciting when it DOES come out!"
Kate, 11, Devon, England
"I can't believe this happened. It's all just to make more money. I actually prefer it when HP films come out during the school year rather than the summer hols, because it gives me things to look forward to. Now instead we have to wait 11 months! 11! Instead of three when the film's perfectly finished."
Mazza, 12, Northern Ireland
"I think it's horrible because so many people were waiting so so long. It's just breaking a promise!!!!"
Naj, 10, London, England
"I'm really upset that we have to wait another year for it to come out. Why does it have to be a summer blockbuster? It would have been a perfect film to watch before Christmas!"
Eva, 12, Birmingham, England
"If they are delaying the film until July then you will be able to remember it so when the first part of the Deathly Hallows comes out it will follow on better than if it had come out in November."
Elizabeth, 10, Bristol, England
"It's ridiculous! They had put a date on it, so they should have respected it ! Being a big HP fan, that really annoys me."
Daničle, 13, France
"I don't think it's such a big deal. After all, the gap between the sixth and the seventh will now be shorter."
Georgia, 13, Co. Down, Northern Ireland
"I think it's good that it is having a delay because it gives children that like Harry Potter a chance to read new books."
Emily, 9, USA
"The Dementors have sucked all the happiness out of my world. Shame on Warner Bros! Harry Potter fans deserve better than this."
Isaiah, 9, Canada
"I am furious! They can't say the release date is November for a year and then change it eight months away when everyone's getting excited! They already make more than enough money - just let people enjoy it! Is there another reason for this that they are not sharing with us??"
Ronnie, 13, USA
"While I am disappointed in this delay, it only makes me want to see it more!"
Briony, 12, Bristol, England
"I was looking forward to seeing it but July will soon come round - it's not the end of the world."
Alyssa, 13, England
"Why do they have to disappoint and annoy MILLIONS of people just to make a bit more money???"
Savanna, 13, USA
"I don't have much hope that the movie will be as good as the actual book, so frankly I don't care. The first three HP movies were acceptable, but by the fourth one everything just went down."
Lola, 14, New Jersey, USA
"I think that they could maybe come to a compromise, like putting it out in January, because they are breaking the hearts of dedicated fans."
Ellie, 13, Bristol, England
"I think that it's really stupid because they made us wait and now we have to wait even longer. I am really miffed at Warner Bros now! And the fifth movie was really rubbish; the next one should be really good! I hope that it is worth the wait!"
Soraya, 12, England
"I couldn't believe it when I read it! I am a huge Harry Potter fan and I have been looking forward to seeing this film and making plans, but now because of the delay I have to wait even longer to see the sixth instalment! But it will probably be worse for my friends having to listen to me getting excited for even longer!"
Yasmin, 13, Derbyshire, England
"Harry Potter has such a loyal fan base that Warner Bros. obviously feel they can muck us about - because we'll see the film anyway. This change of date is just to benefit the studio, not the fans. The potential effects of the writers' strike were clear back in Jan/Feb, so they could have announced much sooner if they were rescheduling. The film should have its release date, and that should be it."
Elle, 15, UK
"It is very silly - everyone is going to forget what has happened in the films because the last book and film were more than a year ago! It's ridiculous. I used to be a Harry Potter maddo but now I'm not because of the wait."
Kirsty, 10, Glasgow, Scotland
"I think it's so annoying. I don't read the books but I really enjoy the films. I'm just so angry."
Clara, 11, Southampton, England
"I was so excited about it coming out. It's not fair to all the fans who've been waiting for it to come out. If they knew it was going to be delayed then why say a date it's going to be released on? They shouldn't tempt us with the trailer too when we have to wait another eight months! Also, it's in the holidays when people play out and it's hot. And my friends and I are going away then so we'll have to wait until September to watch it!"
Tilly, 11, Manchester, England
"The longer the delay the better - the books are sooooo much better!!!"
Ruth, 12, Warwickshire, England
"In a way it's a good thing, as there will be a shorter gap between it and the Deathly Hallows, but it's annoying that everyone has to wait so long, particularly as they released a trailer that made everyone excited about it."
Abi, 13, Bath, England
"I am thoroughly annoyed with the whole thing. Hopefully it will get put back where it's meant to be."
William, 12, Guildford, England
"I wouldn't be bothered about it not being released until July 2009 if I didn't know that it could be released in October!"
Maddie, 14, Durham, England
"I think it's OK because you can't always get everything right everytime, nobody's perfect."
Zainab, 12, Coventry, England
"I don't mind because the standard of Harry Potter films have been going down with each release, but I am looking forward to what the new one might hold!"
Michael, 13, High Wycombe, England
"I think it's rubbish. They shouldn't change it; fans have been waiting for so long already. I'm so disappointed!"
Sophie, 15, Scotland
"I'm really annoyed because I love Harry Potter films and I was looking forward to seeing it! :("
Caitlin, 12, Glasgow, Scotland
"I can't believe we have to wait so long!! I was really looking forward to the Half-Blood Prince."
Enola, 9, Lancashire England
"I think they should just not bother putting it in cinemas at all because they are all the same!"
Justine, 13, Manchester, England
"I think it is really sad that the Half-Blood Prince has been delayed because it would make a really good film. But I think it is good as well, because we will see the first part of the next film with a shorter gap from the Half-Blood Prince."
Helen, 10, Porthcawl, Wales
"I am so angry because I love Harry Potter films and I have all of them on DVD so far."
Bradley, 11, Torquay, England
"I don't think they should have changed the date, especially as the film is finished and the trailers come out!!!"
Emily, 12, Nottingham, England
"They are not doing the right thing!"
Eliza, 9, North Berwick, Scotland
"Noooooooooo. Why have they moved the release date? I thought November was a long time to wait, but now I have to wait till July - it's stupid. What was the point of showing the trailer if the film wasn't coming out for 11 months? I think they're gonna lose the fans who can't be bothered to wait."
Hannah, 12, Darlington, UK
"Well, I suppose I'm happy that the HP films will be around longer, but I'm not THRILLED about the delay. I was really looking forward to seeing it in November!! I don't mind waiting a little longer, but till next summer?! That's ridiculous. I'd be willing to wait till maybe January, but July? AAAUUGGHH! The suspense is brutal. *Sigh*, I suppose I'll survive."
Louisa, 14, Boston USA
"I think that it is quite a silly idea to delay a film to stop the delay of another film. It is now 11 months until the next Harry Potter film. There will be a TWO YEAR GAP from Order of the Phoenix to Half-Blood Prince. Someone should sort this out!"
Rebecca, 10, Howdon, England
"I think they should have told us earlier because we were really looking forward to it."
Aimee, 12, Somerset, England
"Why summer and what's so bad about winter?"
Sam, 10, Edinburgh, Scotland
"I think it's terrible. People shouldn't be made to wait this long, it's like breaking a promise to dedicated fans."
Caoimhe, 13, Belfast, Northern Ireland
"It is dreadful! When they say they will release it at a set time they shouldn't change it!"
Hannah, 11, Altrincham, England
"I think this is really disappointing because we've all waited for this film and we've all seen the trailer which looks really great, and then they tell us there's an eight month delay!"
Laura, 12, Buckinghamshire, England
"I don't really care because I'm not into Harry Potter."
Josh, 9, Bridgend, Wales
"That is really annoying, I was really looking forward to seeing it this year - my sister will definitely not be pleased about that either, she's put it in on her calendar and put an alarm on her phone when it comes out!"
Mairi, 12, Glasgow, Scotland
"I think it's stupid! We all want to see it and it should come out at Christmas at the latest!"
Lydia, 12, Southampton, England
"I think if they knew they were going to delay it, then why show the trailer?"
Aaron, 12, Birmingham, England
"It's a bit stupid if they have already finished it to wait so long, when it can be ready by November. Mind you, I don't mind that much. The HP films are simply appalling nowadays."
Ellen, 14, Leicestershire, England
"Aargh!! The trailer looked so good that I was super excited to see it, and now I have to wait another eight months..."
Lilli, 11, USA
"Well, I am really angry because we have to wait for another eight months for the next film, and I bet the stars are even appalled by this."
Ashleigh, 10, Southend, England
"I'm a HUUUUGE Harry Potter fan and I've been looking forward to H.B.P since I read the book, oh well another eight months won't do any harm."
Jubaer, 12, Manchester, England
"I think it is ridiculous! I mean if it's finished, let us see it! They don't want the next film delayed so they delay this one? Bit stupid if you ask me!"
Charlie, 13, London, England
"I am irate - I was all excited thinking it was only three more months to go, but now I have to wait eleven months!"
Ashley, 11, Nottingham, England
"I am bitterly disappointed about the delay. It's not a summer film, it's a pre Christmas treat!!!!"
Maisie, 12, Lincoln, England
"Yes, I'm sick of hearing about Harry Potter all the time. At least there's more time to relax without Harry Potter taking over cinemas!"
Ben, 12, Huddersfield, England
"I just want to know why they released the trailer if the film wasn't ready. I mean, that was really recent and why does the wait have to be so long??"
Beth, 12, Bradford, England
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! It can't be TRUE. I have been looking forward to this all year. Now we have to wait until next year...."
Olivia, 13, Barcelona, Spain
"I am not happy for the eight month delay for the new Harry Potter film. I am Harry Potter's biggest fan and November was bad enough to wait but next July! I hope the movie does come out then as I don't want to wait another 8 months after that. Another 8 months is a long time to wait - not sure if I can wait that long."
Alice, 12, Harlow, England
"After the trailer came out I was so excited! Now I feel let down by the film makers. It's just not fair on Harry Potter fans!"
Maria, 13, Glasgow, Scotland
Matthew, 11, Sunderland, England

Ashleigh, 10, Warwickshire, England

Alice, 14, Worcester, England
"I really enjoy watching the Harry Potter films and I desperately wanted to see this one and I think that it is a shame that it is delayed."
Anna, 11, London, England

Cherri, 13, Liverpool, England
"I was really looking forward to the movie in November! Oh well at least it's a shorter gap to wait for the Deathly Hallows!"
Samantha, 14, Bolton, England
"That is not fair! I am the biggest Harry Potter fan ever! I am appalled by the news."
Adam, 11, Solihull, England
"I love Harry Potter and I have family who work on the set and I am gutted that it's going to be delayed for 8 months! Let's just hope it comes out at approximately the time they're reckoning now and not 8 months after that!"
Chloe, 12, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland

"I am angry that they are making us wait longer. They are going to lose fans who have been looking forward to the movie all year. Now we have to wait almost another year."
Rachel 14, Redcar, England
"This is terrible! I personally am not bothered about the gap between Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows, but I am bothered about the long wait there's going to be in between Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince! This is an outrage! I'm disgusted at the people who have delayed it :'(! GRRR! They have made a big flaw there, so many fans are going to be upset! I suggest that they get it sorted, cos I personally have been so excited since the trailer, as a massive Harry Potter fan. Please, get it sorted:("
Abbi, 12, Sheffield, England
"I think it's TERRIBLE! They made us look SOOOOOO forward to it! BUT NOW WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR AND EXTRA 8 MONTHS. I have signed a petition."
Tracey, 12, Leicester, England
"Quite frankly, I am appalled! After getting so many people excited and counting down to the release, then delaying it. Now we all have to wait another year. It's just not fair, when it's been anticipated by many, to make them wait. Especially after that young Tom Riddle clip and the official trailer a couple of weeks ago!"
Olivia, 11, Bury, England
"I think it is good ! Then it is shorter gap to the first part of Deathly Hallows ! So, in a way, it is good but ... then I see a glimpse and I am all excited about it ! So, there are the pros and the cons. It all depends really ! Buuuut .."
Dindda, 11, Cambridge, England

I am not a huge Potter fan bun I like watching the films and as I have read all of the books including the Deathly Hallows as I love lots of drama and that is what Harry Potter books have brought to me. I am looking forward to seeing the sixth film!"
Isabella, 10, Solihull, England
