Bad spelling 'should be allowed'

You're probably used to weekly spelling tests, but now a top professor has said it's a waste of time.

A university lecturer reckons that so many of his students misspell basic words that he's just going to ignore their errors.

Dr Ken Smith says the most common words to get wrong include February, Wednesday and argument.

And he says that students' spelling is so bad it's time to allow some mistakes to be acceptable.

But other people think that this is a bad step and more should be done to help kids learn how to spell properly before they leave school.
